State Trooper Charged With 53a-254: Computer Crime 3rd Degree
Trooper First Class Marwing Pena turned himself in to Troop I today (May 13, 2026) on charges of 53a-254: Computer Crime 3rd Degree. Pena was processed and released on a $10,000 non-surety bond. After being charged, Pena was placed on administrative leave, with his police powers suspended immediately. Pena was hired as a Trooper in October 2018 and was most recently assigned to Troop H in Hartford. Please see attached criminal summary and arrest warrant.

State Police have identified the third victim of the Stratford triple fatal from the early morning hours of May 11, 2026, as Yanelet DePaz, DOB: 8/9/2024 This crash remains under investigation and Troopers continue to seek witnesses.
