Andover Man Arrested for Larceny After Taking Items from Crash Scene on I-84 in West Hartford

On Sunday, April 7, 2025, at approximately 5:22 AM, Emergency Dispatchers from Troop H - Hartford were notified by the wrong-way detection system of a wrong way driver on the I-84 Westbound Exit 42 off-ramp. Upon receiving the notification, Dispatchers observed a vehicle backing up the off ramp and the operator exiting the vehicle. It was observed on camera that the male operator then walked to a crash scene and began picking up items that were scattered on the highway from a rolled over tractor trailer unit.
Troopers were dispatched to the area and quickly located the vehicle after it had left the scene. The operator was identified as Marcus King (DOB 09/16/1973) of Andover. King was in possession of several items from the rolled over tractor trailer which did not belong to him. King was placed under arrest without incident.
King was transported to Troop H for processing where he was charged with the following:
C.G.S. 14-237 - Driving the Wrong Way on a Limited Access Highway
C.G.S. 53-182 - Negligent Pedestrian on a Highway
C.G.S. 53a-125 - Larceny in the Fourth Degree
King was later released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Hartford Superior Court on 4/30/2025.
