On July 7, 2024, at approximately 1:20 PM, Troopers from Troop C- Tolland were met by an Ellington Resident who wanted to report an incident that occurred between her juvenile daughter, and an unknown male on Snap Chat. Following a lengthy investigation, and with assistance from the FBI, State Police Cyber Crime Unit, and the Vernon Police Department, Troopers learned that Robert Cohs (DOB 10/20/1968) had communicated with the juvenile and enticed her to send explicit photographs of herself to him.

After numerous search and seizure warrants, an arrest warrant was drafted and submitted to Rockville Superior Court and later granted.

On February 4th, 2025, at approximately 7:40 AM, Troopers arrived at Cohs' residence to take him into custody on the active warrant for his arrest. Cohs was transported to Troop C for processing and charged with the following pursuant to the arrest warrant:

C.G.S. 53-21 - Risk of Injury to a Minor

C.G.S. 53a-90a(b)(2) - Enticing a Minor

Cohs was held on a court set $500,000 bond which he was unable to post. Cohs was then transported to Rockville Superior Court for same day arraignment.
