Detectives Arrest Stafford Woman Following February 2024 AT&T Fraud Scheme Investigation

On Sunday, January 5, 2025, Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime Squad arrested Katie Ann Barnaby (DOB: 11/04/1989), of Stafford, at her residence on the strength of an active arrest warrant. The warrant for Barnaby's arrest stemmed from a fraud scheme investigation where Barnaby allegedly accessed a customer's account and made revisions without authorization by secretly adding unauthorized phone and tablet lines to their AT&T account for commission.


Barnaby was transported to Troop C in Tolland and charged with the following violation:


C.G.S. 53a-254 - Computer Crime 3rd Degree


Barnaby was held on a $25,000 bond and was scheduled for arraignment at Rockville Superior Court on 01/06/2025.
