East Hartford Man Arrested for OUI; Wrong Way Driver on RT 11 in Colchester

On Saturday April 26, 2025, at approximately 12:38 AM, Troopers were dispatched to Route 11 in the town of Colchester for a reported wrong way driver. The vehicle was reported to be traveling northbound in the southbound lanes.
Troopers located the vehicle and were able to safely conduct a motor vehicle stop. The operator was identified as Jorge Jimenez (DOB 02/14/1974) of East Hartford. Troopers detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Jimenez' person, and noticed his eyes were bloodshot and glossy. Furthermore, open beer cans were located inside the vehicle that Jimenez was driving.
Based on Troopers suspicion that Jimenez was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, he was requested to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which he did not perform to standard. Jimenez was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Troop K for processing where he was charged with the following:
C.G.S. 14-227a - Operation Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or Drugs
C.G.S. 14-236 - Failure to Maintain Lane
C.G.S. 14-237 - Driving the Wrong Way on a Limited Access Highway
Jimenez was later released on a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear at Norwich Superior Court, on 05/20/2025.
