Griswold Man Arrested for Assault 1st Degree Following February 2024 Accident Investigation on Route 12 in Killingly

On Wednesday, 02/26/25 at approximately 4:18 PM, Eric Leblanc (DOB 09/08/99), of Griswold, was encountered by personnel from Troop E-Montville during a motor vehicle accident in Lisbon. While on scene, it was learned that Troop D- Danielson held an active arrest warrant for Leblanc. Leblanc was subsequently arrested and turned over to the custody of Troop D personnel.


The warrant for Leblanc's arrest stemmed from an accident investigation in February 2024 on Route 12 in Killingly. The investigation determined that Leblanc rear-ended another vehicle which was operated by a pregnant female. Injuries sustained to the female from the accident required an emergency C-section delivery of the child, who subsequently died on 02/28/24.


Leblanc was processed on the following charges pursuant to the arrest warrant:


CGS 14-213b; Illegal Operation of a Motor Vehicle Without Minimum Insurance


CGS 14-218a; Traveling Unreasonably Fast


CGS 14-232(a)(1); Improper Passing-Unsafe Distance


CGS 14-240; Failure to Drive at a Reasonable Distance Apart


CGS 53a-59(a)(3); Assault 1st Degree- Extreme Indifference to Human Life


CGS 53a-63; Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree (2 counts)


Leblanc was later released from custody on a $375,000 court set bond and is scheduled to appear at Danielson Superior Court on 03/11/25.
