On Wednesday, 01/01/2025, at approximately 7:56 AM, a Trooper assigned to Troop G - Bridgeport observed a 2022 BMW X3M going through a red light and driving approximately 70 mph on side roads throughout the city of West Haven. Upon making this observation, the Trooper activated their emergency lights and siren to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle continued driving at slow speeds but ultimately complied and pulled over to the right shoulder on Campbell St in West Haven.
Upon the Trooper exiting their cruiser, the operator accelerated in an attempt to elude the traffic stop. In the interest of public safety, the Trooper terminated efforts to pursue the vehicle, and registration information was obtained.
Through investigative efforts and speaking with the registered owner of the vehicle, Troopers identified the operator as Eman Elsayed Aglan (DOB 08/22/2000) of Hamden, CT. Once at Aglan's address, contact was made via phone where Aglan admitted to being the operator at the time of the incident. Aglan later met with Troopers where she was taken into custody without incident.
Aglan was charged with the following violations:
C.G.S. 14-222 - Reckless Driving
C.G.S. 14-223(b)** - Engaging Police in Pursuit
C.G.S. 14-167 - Interfering with an Officer
Aglan was released on a $1,000 bond awaiting a court date of 01/29/2025 at New Haven Superior Court.
