MA Man Arrested for Risk of Injury, Sexual Assault, Enticing a Minor Following October 2024 Investigation in Somers

On Tuesday, 04/01/25, at approximately 12:08 PM, Justin Perez (DOB 02/06/98), of Springfield, MA, was located following a traffic stop conducted by the Enfield Police Department. Perez was arrested on the strength of an active arrest warrant held by Troop C- Tolland and was subsequently turned over to the custody of the State Police.


The warrant for Perez's arrest stemmed from an investigation which began in October 2024. Perez formerly served as an assistant athletic coach at Somers High School, and the incident came to light following a juvenile female student's disclosure of inappropriate contact with Perez. The investigation determined that Perez was allegedly engaging in inappropriate phone/social media contact with the victim, inappropriate contact during practice sessions as well as other unwanted sexual advances.


Perez was transported to Troop C, where he was processed on the following charges pursuant to the arrest warrant:


CGS 53a-49/ 53-21(a)(1); Criminal Attempt- Risk of Injury to a Minor


CGS 53-21(a)(1); Risk of Injury to a Minor


CGS 53a-49/ 53a-71; Criminal Attempt- Sexual Assault 2nd Degree


CGS 53a-73a; Sexual Assault 4th Degree


CGS 53a-90a(a(1*; Enticing a Minor Under 18 by Computer


Perez was released from custody on a $100,000 court-set bond and is scheduled to appear at Rockville Superior Court on 04/02/25. Please see the attached arrest warrant and criminal information summary.
