On March 10, 2025, at approximately 9:46 PM, Troopers from Troop H - Hartford attempted a traffic stop on I-84 east in the area of Exit 46 on a vehicle that was traveling at speeds estimated at over 100 miles per hour in a 50 mile per hour zone.
Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle using emergency lights and siren and the vehicle failed to stop, continuing on I-84 east. Troopers were able to obtain the vehicles registration and learned that it was registered out of Meriden.
A follow up investigation was conducted at the registered owners address where contact was made with Natasha Ramos-Bauza (DOB 12/20/1998). Ramos-Bauza admitted to being the operator of the vehicle at the time of the incident. Ramos-Bauza explained that she was scared to pull over and did not want to mess up her criminal record with a ticket. Ramos-Bauza was placed under arrest without incident and transported to Troop H for processing where she was charged with the following:
C.G.S. 14-223(b)** - Engaging Police in Pursuit
C.G.S. 14-222 - Reckless Driving
C.G.S.14-232(a)(1) - Improper Passing
C.G.S. 14-236 - Failure to Maintain Lane
Ramos-Bauza was later released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Hartford Superior Court on 04/01/2025.
