On January 31, 2025, at approximately 12:48 AM, Troopers from Troop L - Litchfield conducted a traffic stop on Bissell Road in the Town of Litchfield for a vehicle travelling at a speed higher than the posted speed limit. The Trooper followed the vehicle and observed the speed to be approximately 80 mph in a posted 35 mph zone.

After initiating the traffic stop, Troopers immediately observed that the registration plate affixed to the vehicle belonged to a Ford F-150, displayed on a Chevy Silverado, and the vehicle's taillight was not properly functioning. The operator was identified as Christian Silver (DOB 12/02/2000) of Morris, and the Trooper observed Silver's eyes to be bloodshot and glossy. The Trooper could also smell the odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. Silver stated the vehicle was his and that it was not properly insured.

Based on observations, Silver was requested to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which he complied and ultimately failed to perform to standard. Silver was placed under arrest without incident and transported to Troop L for processing.

Silver was charged with the following:

C.G.S. 14-227a -Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or Drugs

C.G.S. 14-12(a)* - Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle

C.G.S. 14-218(a) - Traveling Unreasonably Fast in violation
