On February 19th, 2025, at approximately 3:22 PM, Troopers from Troop G - Bridgeport responded to a disturbance on RT 8 north, on the exit 1 on-ramp in Bridgeport. Once on scene, Troopers spoke with the victim who explained that the operator of a gray Ford F150 got out of his vehicle and threatened her for an unknown reason. The victim explained that the male was yelling profanities at her and later punched her driver's side window.
The victim was able to take a short video of the encounter, and the F150's registration plate was captured. A COLLECT query of the registration showed that it was currently registered to Michael Dehm (DOB 06/19/1963), of New Milford. Dehm's DMV picture was compared to the male seen in the video, and Troopers determined that Dehm was the male involved. Another independent witness was identified, who confirmed the victim's explanation of the incident.
Troopers relayed the vehicle's information to Troop G Dispatch, who informed neighboring Police Departments of the incident. Moments later, the Newtown Police Department located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in their town, where Dehm was identified as the operator of the F150.
Troopers then made contact with Dehm, who admitted to being involved in the incident on the ramp, and that he did exit his vehicle and approach the other car. Dehm stated that he was upset with the other car, thought they were "brake checking" him, and that he did punch the window one time. Dehm was subsequently arrested without incident.
Dehm was transported to Troop G for processing where he was charged with the following:
C.G.S. 53a-62 - Threatening in the Second Degree
C.G.S. 53a-64 - Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree
C.G.S. 53-182 - Reckless Use of a Highway by a Pedestrian
C.G.S. 53a-181 - Breach of Peace in the Second Degree
Dehm was later released on a $5,000 bond and is due to appear at Bridgeport Superior Court on 3/10/2025.
