Newtown Man Arrested by Warrant for Eluding August Traffic Stop on Route 8 in Waterbury

On Wednesday, 11/13/24 at approximately 10:56 AM, Todd Pleasants (DOB 02/20/90), of Newtown, was arrested at Waterbury Superior Court on the strength of an active arrest warrant. The warrant stemmed from an investigation in which Pleasants was identified as the operator of a vehicle who fled the scene of a traffic stop on Route 8 in Waterbury on 08/30/24.


Pleasants was processed for the following charges pursuant to the arrest warrant:


CGS 14-215; Illegal Operation of a Motor Vehicle Under Suspension


CGS 14-222; Reckless Driving


CGS 14-223(a); Disobeying Signal of an Officer


CGS 53a-130; Criminal Impersonation


CGS 53a-167a; Interfering with an Officer/Resisting


Pleasants was held on a $25,000 court set bond and was turned over to the custody of the Judicial Marshals for same day arraignment at Waterbury Superior Court. Please see the attached arrest warrant and criminal information summary.
