On Monday, December 16, 2024 at approximately 10:20 AM, Ariel Dejesus Valdez (DOB: 06/20/1996) of Providence, Rhode Island, was extradited from Rhode Island to Connecticut on the strength of an extraditable arrest warrant held by Troop G in Bridgeport.
The arrest warrant for Valdez's arrest stemmed from an assault which occurred at the North Fairfield Service Plaza on 12/07/2024. Following the assault, Valdez fled Connecticut and was later taken into custody by Rhode Island Law Enforcement Officials once an extraditable arrest warrant was approved.
Valdez was arrested without incident and processed at Troop G where he was charged with the following violations:
C.G.S. 53-21 - Risk of Injury to a Child
C.G.S. 53a-64 - Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree (2 counts)
C.G.S. 53a-64bb - Strangulation or Suffocation in the 2nd Degree
C.G.S. 53a-116 - Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree
C.G.S. 53a-124 - Larceny 3rd Degree
C.G.S. 53a-181 - Breach of Peace 2nd Degree
Valdez was unable to post his $100,000 court set bond and was held at the Bridgeport Correctional Center. Valdez was scheduled for arraignment at Bridgeport Superior Court on 12/17/2024.
