On Thursday March 13, 2025, 245 law enforcement officers graduated from the 293rd session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. One of the graduates was CSP Captain Ryan Maynard.

The class consisted of men and women from 48 states, the District of Columbia, 24 countries, 11 military organizations and four federal civilian organizations.

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy offers 10 weeks of advanced communication, leadership, and fitness training. Participants must have proven records as professionals within their agencies to attend. On average, these officers have 21 years of law enforcement experience and usually return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions.

Captain Maynard has been a State Trooper for nearly 15 years, graduating from the Training Academy with the 121st Training Troop. He has been assigned to Troop K in Colchester and Troop E in Montville, as a member of the Tactical Team and Dive Team, and as an Academy Instructor. He currently serves as Executive Officer of Selections & Training. During his tenure as a Trooper, he has received the Medal for Meritorious Service, the Medal for Lifesaving, and two Unit Citation awards. For more than 20 years, Captain Maynard has also served the U.S the CT Army National Guard, where his current rank is Sergeant Major. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Albertus Magnus College.

We congratulate Captain Maynard and look forward to his return!
