State Police Investigating Untimely Death in Burlington

Preliminary information indicates that on 07/24/2024, at approximately 10:37 a.m., Connecticut State Police Troop L in Litchfield was contacted by an individual reporting that they were at a residence located at 70 Smith Lane in Burlington, and they were unable to make contact with the resident.


Attempts by responding Troopers to initiate contact with anyone inside of the residence were unsuccessful and with the assistance of the local fire department, Troopers made entry into the residence. An unresponsive female was located within the residence, who was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.

 

The decedent has been identified as Linda Bigazzi, DOB 10/31/1947, of the above address.

 

Based upon initial findings, this incident has been categorized as an untimely death investigation.


The scene remains active and Smith Lane remains shut down for the investigation.

 

Members of the media wishing to report from the Burlington area are asked to stage at The Burlington Town Hall, located at 200 Spielman Highway, in Burlington.

 

Connecticut State Police will not be providing interviews as all of the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation.
