On Sunday, 11/24/24 at approximately 3:14 AM, personnel from Troop G- Bridgeport responded to a reported multi-car accident on I-95 northbound, just prior to the rest area in Darien. Upon arrival, Troopers observed that one of the vehicles involved in the collision was facing the wrong way. Further investigation determined that this vehicle, a Jeep Liberty SUV, was in fact traveling southbound in the northbound travel lanes prior to the accident occurring.
As Troopers continued to investigate, the operator of the Jeep Liberty was positively identified by his New Jersey driver's license as Ramon Tusa Llivicosa (DOB 09/22/88), of Stratford. Tusa Llivicosa explained to Troopers on scene that he had consumed alcohol prior to the collision, was not injured and was traveling from Norwalk to New Jersey. None of the other parties involved reported injuries from the accident. Based upon the above facts and circumstances, Standardized Field Sobriety Testing was administered.
Tusa Llivicosa submitted to testing and failed to perform to standard. Tusa Llivicosa was arrested without incident and was transported to Troop G, where he was processed on the following charges:
CGS 14-227a: Illegal Operation of a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs
CGS 14-237; Driving the Wrong Way on a Divided Highway
Tusa Llivicosa was later released from custody on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court on 12/17/24. Please see the attached criminal information summary.
