On 08/20/2024, at approximately 9:34 a.m., a Trooper assigned to Troop C in Tolland observed a white Dodge Charger SXT displaying a Connecticut registration traveling eastbound on Chaffeeville Road in Mansfield. The Dodge was then clocked at speeds between 80 and 90 MPH in a posted 30 MPH zone. Additionally, the Dodge was observed maneuvering around sharp curves on the wet roadway while maintaining a high rate of speed, creating a risk to the safety of not only the operator of the Dodge, but other motorists and any pedestrians in the area.
The Trooper initiated a motor vehicle stop using their cruiser’s lights and sirens and the Dodge came to a stop in the area of Mulberry Road, without incident. During the on-scene investigation, the operator of the Dodge, identified as Dylan Roy, DOB 06/19/2005, of Mansfield, acknowledged that he was operating at speeds that well exceeded the posted speed limit. As a result, Roy was taken into custody and transported to Troop C, where he was processed and charged with the following violation:

Roy was later released on a $2500 cash/surety bond and is scheduled for arraignment on 09/09/2024, at Rockville Superior Court.
