Troopers Make Narcotics Arrest in North Canaan

On 11/14/24 at approximately 11:15pm, Trooper Bronson #532 conducted a motor vehicle stop along Route 7 in the town of North Canaan. Due to a variety of factors, it was suspected that the occupants of the vehicle may be in possession of drugs. Trooper Carlson #955 and his K9 partner, K9 Gordon #9005 were called to the scene to perform a vehicle search. K9 Gordon is a certified narcotics detection dog. Upon conducting a cursory search, K9 Gordon alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a significant amount of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, an unregistered handgun, a high capacity magazine and a large amount of money. The person in possession of the contraband was arrested and processed without incident at Troop B. They were held on a $25,000 cash/surety bond and are scheduled to be presented at Torrington Superior Court later today.
