On Tuesday, 02/11/25 at approximately 7:14 AM, personnel from Troop G- Bridgeport were dispatched to I-95 northbound in the area of exit 16 in Norwalk for a reported motor vehicle accident. While responding, it was learned that the occupants of one of the vehicles had fled the scene on foot. They were described as young males wearing all black with ski masks.

Based upon this information, the Norwalk and Westport Police Departments were advised and responded to establish a perimeter of the immediate area surrounding I-95. Shortly thereafter, two individuals were located within the vicinity of the accident scene matching the description of the fleeing suspects and were detained. Further investigation determined that the vehicle involved in the accident from which the occupants fled, a 2019 BMW X6, was confirmed as stolen from the town of Bridgewater. Additionally, a 2021 Audi S5 was located unoccupied on the exit 17 off ramp. This vehicle was determined to be registered in Greenwich, and based upon the circumstances the Greenwich Police Department was requested to make contact with the registered owner. Greenwich PD reported that the Audi was in fact stolen, and that the owner only became aware of their vehicle being stolen upon being contacted by Greenwich PD.

The two parties detained were later identified as a juvenile male and Jeremiah Villacis (DOB 08/28/2006), of West Haven. Both were subsequently arrested and processed on the following charges:

CGS 53a-119c; Larceny of a Motor Vehicle

CGS 53a-167a; Interfering with an Officer/Resisting

The juvenile was released from State Police custody on a promise to appear and Villacis was released on a $50,000 bond. They are scheduled to appear at New Haven Juvenile Court on 02/14/25 and Stamford Superior Court on 04/04/25, respectively. Both were then turned over to the custody of the Greenwich Police Department for separate charges. This investigation determined a total of five (5) individuals fled on foot from both stolen vehicles. This remains an active and ongoing investigation, please see the attached criminal information summary.
