On Saturday March 22, 2025, at approximately 3:28 PM, Troopers from Troop D - Danielson responded to a motor vehicle accident on the I-395 northbound exit 37 off-ramp. The initial "911" caller reported that three individuals exited the vehicle, and all three individuals took off running in the woods.
Responding Troopers located the vehicle approximately 20 yards off the roadway down an embankment. Investigation on scene revealed the vehicle struck a metal beam guardrail, continued on hitting a directional sign in the shoulder and eventually went off the roadway and down an embankment.
It was also learned that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Worcester MA. Troopers, Killingly Police Officers, and K-9's Falco and Murphy conducted a search of the area and located two individuals matching the description given by "911" callers. K9 Falco successfully apprehended one male, while K9 Murphy apprehended the other. The third individual was not located, however was identified as a juvenile through on-scene investigation.
Cedric Tolson (DOB 04/20/2006) of Worcester, MA, and Jenay Busanet (DOB 07/25/2006) of Killingly both declined medical attention on scene as a result of the K9 bites sustained upon apprehension.
Both Tolson and Busanet were transported to Troop D for processing where they were charged with the following:
C.G.S. 53a-167a - Interfering with an Officer
C.G.S. 53a-119c -Larceny of a Motor Vehicle
C.G.S. 14-224 (b)(3) - Evading the scene of Motor Vehicle Accident
Both Tolson and Busanet were issued a $20,000 bond. Tolson was released after posting bond awaiting a court date of 04/08/2025 at Danielson Superior Court. Busanet was held on bond awaiting a court date of 03/24/2025 at Danielson Superior Court.
