On Monday March 24, 2025, at approximately 6:55 PM, Troopers from Troop D - Danielson responded to an address in the Town of Woodstock for a reported assault. The victim explained that two males known to him caused a disturbance in his garage, and one had sexually assaulted a female who was also in the residence. The two males were identified as Tylor Lewis (DOB 09/11/1990) and Tyler Fafard (DOB 05/26/1991).
The victim explained that following the disturbance, the males left the residence, then returned a short time later. Upon their return, Lewis and Fafard physically assaulted him, and punched windows in the garage breaking them. Lewis and Fafard then again left the residence.
The victim described the vehicle that the two left in, and this information was relayed to Troopers on patrol. At approximately 11:00 PM, Troopers located the vehicle travelling east on Ennis Rd in Brooklyn.
Troopers had previously attempted to stop the vehicle on Rt. 169 in Pomfret and Reynolds St. in Danielson, and the vehicle eluded in both incidents. Based on this information, knowing the likelihood that the vehicle was going to engage in a pursuit, Troopers continued to follow the vehicle towards the intersection of Rt. 6 and Maple St. in Killingly while additional units were able to approach to attempt a box in of the vehicle.
Troopers activated their lights and sirens, and the operator failed to stop engaging Troopers in a pursuit. The operator continued driving erratically off the roadway on sidewalks and into oncoming traffic with their headlights off, nearly ramming responding State Police cruisers.
Troopers continued pursuing the vehicle into the parking lot of 304 Main St. where they ultimately surrendered. The operator was identified as Lewis, and Fafard was a passenger in the vehicle. Both were subsequently arrested and transported to Troop D for processing.
