On Thursday, 02/27/25, Soniah Thompson (DOB 03/11/96), of Waterbury, turned herself into Troop F-Westbrook on the strength of an active arrest warrant. The warrant for Thompson's arrest stemmed from an investigation which began earlier this month in which Thompson was alleged to have washed a check issued by the Essex Yacht Club to a local vendor. The check was then cashed by Thompson at a local bank in Old Lyme, bearing her name and a higher dollar amount than originally issued by the club.
Thompson was arrested without incident and processed on the following charges pursuant to the arrest warrant:
CGS 53a-125; Larceny 4th Degree
CGS 53a-140; Forgery 3rd Degree
Thompson was later released from custody on a $15,000 court set bond and is scheduled to appear at New London Superior Court on 03/13/25.
