On Monday, 12/16/24, at approximately 6:22 PM, personnel from Troop H- Hartford were dispatched to a three car motor vehicle accident on the Route 9 southbound exit 29 ramp to I-91 northbound in Cromwell.
On scene investigation determined that the sequence of events began with a rear-end collision, which then caused the at-fault vehicle to run off the roadway to the right. The vehicle then collided with a light pole and a guardrail, which caused the vehicle to roll over. During the rollover, the front driver side tire disconnected from the vehicle and collided with an un-involved vehicle which was traveling northbound. While speaking with Madison, Troopers observed visible signs of impairment. Based upon these observations, Madison was requested to submit to Standardized Field Sobriety Testing. Madison agreed to submit to testing and subsequently failed. Madison was subsequently arrested, and a search of his person incident to arrest revealed that he was carrying a loaded .380 ACP caliber pistol.
