On 09/11/2024, at approximately 2:53 a.m., Troopers assigned to Troop G in Bridgeport responded to a five-car motor vehicle collision on I-95 northbound in the area of Exit 9 in Stamford, immediately following reports of a wrong-way driver. The wrong-way vehicle was described as a dark-colored Toyota Corolla.

Responding Troopers arrived on scene and located a black Toyota Corolla heavily damaged in the left lane, as well as four other involved vehicles in the area.

The operator of the Toyota Corolla, who was not carrying her operators license, was identified as Jacqueline Remache, DOB: 07/11/1995, of Bronx, New York. While speaking with Remache, Troopers observed that her eyes appeared watery and bloodshot, her speech was slurred, and the strong odor of alcoholic beverages emanated from her person as she spoke. When asked, Remache initially denied having consumed alcoholic beverages but later admitted to doing so. Ramache agreed to participate in Standardized Field Sobriety Tests at the scene, which were not performed to standard,

Based upon the information obtained and observations made during the investigation, Remache was taken into custody and transported to Troop G in Bridgeport, where she was processed and charged with the following violations:

C.G.S. 14-227a, Operating Under the Influence

C.G.S. 14-237, Driving the Wrong Way on a Divided Highway

C.G.S. 14-238, Improper Entry Onto a Limited Access Highway

C.G.S. 14-213, Failure to Carry an Operators License

Remache was later released on a $5,000 cash bond and is scheduled for arraignment at Stamford Superior Court on 10/09/2024.
